Angels: Divine Companions

Even when we feel as though we are completely alone, there are divine companions who are always with us. Before our incarnation they chose to accompany us through our lifetime, from the moment of our first breath, until our last. Spirit guides are highly evolved beings. Having completed the cycle of birth and death in the physical plane, they now serve as teachers and guides to further elevate our vibrations. They are as “real” as we are, they are vibrating at another level and reside within another plane of existence.
They work to guide us by working through our dreams and intuition. That quiet voice we hear is often the voice of our teachers and guides. They may also make themselves known to us through signs and symbols. For me, when I am at a crossroads in my life or journeying through a personal or emotional challenge, I find feathers everywhere. I see hummingbirds, butterflies, and woodpeckers. I also see feather tattoos, hawks, and hear certain songs. It is a reminder for me to be still and listen to the guidance of my own personal guides. The feathers are representative of the energy of my guides, one being a powerful Shaman, one is a Humpback whale, one is Hildegard, and the others are from the angelic and etheric realms.
Some individuals have one guide and others have multitudes, much of this depends on the path and purpose of our life. For instance, a teacher/professor may have several guides, one to guide them through the academic nature of their profession and others to assist them with the great emotional requirements of performing such an important task. Much of who our guides are is indicative of our own personal journey through our lives.
Spirit guides are sometimes a loved one who has passed away. Although our loved ones stay with us in spirit and we may contact them, they don't usually serve the same role as a “spirit guide”. Some individuals have archangels and angels as spirit guides who are always with them. Yet, the presence of angels does not always mean they are our spirit guides. Angels may be called in times of distress to assist us for a short time. If we have an archangel or angel as a guide, chances are our mission in life is a complex one. Through my experience with being a psychic reader and spiritual teacher, I found that individuals with a challenging life path often have angels as spirit guides.
Our guardian spirit guide is always with us, whether we acknowledge their presence or not. We cannot call them to us or send them away, they are part of us and our journey. However, we may choose to gain the knowledge of who they are and what their role in our life is. We have many types of guides. Some come for a task, a season, or attached to the nurturing of a specific relationship. These guides appear at our call, and be released when their task is accomplished.
The possibility is always there to interact with our spirit guides in a more proactive way. If we want to know who our guides are, just ask. Get in a quiet and meditative space and ask that they reveal themselves to us. Do not get discouraged if it takes a few tries. Beings from the spiritual realm often communicate through signs and symbols. Once we ask, we should trust our own wisdom. Pay attention to the pictures that appear in our mind. If we see a man in a suit, stay with that, it could be he is a philosopher or scientist. We may see a Native American, a Buddhist monk or see nothing at all. Keep the mind and intuition open. Pay attention to things that keep coming up after we ask that they reveal who they are. If we are having a challenge discovering who they are we can also contact a professional psychic/intuitive to assist us in gaining the initial connection.
Working with our spirit guides is an incredible tool for our own personal and spiritual growth. Unlike beings who are in the physical, their wisdom and advice is not influenced by the “world” and an ego. They dwell in a higher vibrational plane and the mundane particulars of our situation are not relevant. For example, if we seek guidance from our spirit guide regarding a relationship, they will lead us to focus on what we are learning, what we need to learn, what we are teaching our partner, and what is the true meaning of our relationship. The fact that they leave the toilet seat up or are terrible at budgeting the household finances will be irrelevant. The information that we will be provided with will be actions that WE take to gain more understanding. We may also ask our spirit guides to assist us in physical healing. Before we go to sleep, ask that as we are sleeping, we receive healing.
I experienced this in healing an abscess. A healing guide directed me in a half-sleep state to drain it and in the morning the access was well on its way to being healed, and I didn't experience the pain. A true blessing.
We are never alone. Never. Take faith in knowing and understanding that there is so much magic and mystery in this life. Just for a moment let the “world” disappear. Raise our vibration and allow the beautiful gifts of spirit wash over us. Life is so much more than what we see. Open our spiritual eyes and hearts and we will discover a world of wisdom, beauty and peace that we never knew existed. Of course, we can always choose to not believe. It is always our choice, our will. Yet, why not? Why not step into another level of existence? Why not believe in magic? We do not have to announce it to the office, yet we can embrace the wonders of spirit in our own heart. It will envelope us in illuminating love and understanding, and mysteriously transform us into a more connected and loving being.
